SEMTECH has implemented an Identity Preserved (I.P.) production program, commonly referred to as SOYA I.P., where identity preservation pertains to non-GMO soybeans. Traceability of our export-bound products is essential to ensure added value for producers.

From certified seed production to the delivery of soybeans to the final buyer, I.P. production must adhere to strict procedures followed by producers, packagers, and exporters.

It begins with the selection of the variety and contracted production from certified seeds. The choice of production fields and the establishment of isolation strips ensure crop integrity.

Every step, from planting to harvesting, undergoes strict controls, including equipment cleanliness, planting uniformity, and weed control. Regular field inspections are conducted to ensure compliance.

After harvesting, cleaning the combines and silos is essential. Transportation to the packaging facility is completed with verification procedures for truck cleanliness, ensuring optimal product quality at every stage.

Each standard is documented with a review sheet completed by the producer.

SEMTECH was the first company in Quebec to establish a facility dedicated exclusively to the packaging of Identity Preserved (I.P.) soybeans. Specialized high-tech equipment, combined with diligent personnel, ensures that importing customers receive a product that meets their specifications, delivering complete satisfaction regarding the quality of exported soybeans.

Handling, packaging, and shipping controls are rigorously documented. This traceability is recognized by the Canadian Segregation Recognition System (CSRS) Certification.
